What is PerformanceMesh

PerformanceMesh was developed for Live Performance/show control where multiple performers and Artists needed realtime control of Pyrotechnics, lasers, lighting, sound,video control and other special effects. Each artist can move freely around a stage utilising camera motion sensing, sonar range distancing and hand control of his or her part of the show. Open sound control an industry standard is used for sending data around the wireless network. This robust protocol is used throughout the industry. We will continue to add wireless sensors to the Performance family but if you have any custom requests or requirements or a tailor made performance mesh please contact us.

SonarcamMesh

sonarcammeshThe SonarcamMesh sensor module is a Wifi based camera module that reports movement and pixel data, or visible and IR light sources. The FOV (field of view) is 42 degrees horizontal by 31 degrees vertical. Pixel resolution is 1024 x 768. These devices can be used as part of our performance mesh network, or for custom applications customers can use our free SDK in a standalone application. It uses the popular SRF05 sensor module; drawing less current while having an increased range over previous technology. With a tight beam width, low power and fast reading rate, the SonarcamMesh is ideally suited for object avoidance in robotic applications. Simple fixed point calculations can provide distance approximations for use in further calculations, robotic mapping, or path planning. SonarcamMesh sensors can be used for simple object detection and collision avoidance, without having to worry about ambient light issues as with infrared type sensors. These sensors are perfect for use on autonomous ground vehicles as collision avoidance sensors. They are also great for detecting presence or movement of objects in a field (e.g. stage area, alarm systems). See datasheet for more information.

ColourCam

PixyMeshThe new innovative ColourCam sensor module consists of a Wifi based camera module reporting information in real time. ColourCam is a fast vision sensor used for DIY robotics and related applications. You can teach ColourCam an object just by pressing a button. All these devices can be used either as part of our performance mesh network, or for custom applications customers may use our free SDK in a standalone application. With a tight beam width, low power and rapid reading rate, the ColourCam is perfect for object avoidance in robotic applications. These sensors are ideal for use on autonomous ground vehicles as collision avoidance sensors. They are also great for detecting presence or movement of different coloured objects in a field (e.g. stage area, alarm systems). See datasheet for more information.          

PressureMesh

PressureMeshPressureMesh is the latest module to be released for the PerformanceMesh sensor Network range. In setup mode each performer is weighed, giving them a unique ID. As various performers step on to the sensor an OSC message will be sent to the network identifying the performer.       An example of use: Several sensors are placed around the stage. When a specific performer triggers the sensor his or her DataGloves (or other sensors) react and can be controlled in a specific way. So as soon as Performer 1 steps onto Sensor 1 her gloves control a musical instrument. When a different performer (let’s call him Performer 2) steps onto the same sensor (Sensor 1) his gloves control laser effects. If any performer steps onto a different PressureMesh sensor he or she could control Pyrotechnics or DMX lighting effects. OSC output fully compatible with PerformanceMesh network  

DataGlove

dsc_5209The DataGlove system provides 5 high accuracy joint angle measures sensors. It uses bend sensor and pressure sensor technology to accurately transform finger and hand motion into real time data. DataGlove can be used in a wide variety of applications including, animation, robotics, virtual reality and medical. Data gloves can be bought singularly or as a pair and can be configured as left or right handed.
